We are located in the heart of downtown Chillicothe; 50 minutes south of Columbus on S.R.23, and 1 hour 30 minutes from Cincinnati.
From Columbus, Ohio:
-Head south on St. Rt. 23.
- Take the exit toward Bridge St/Chillicothe onto US-23-BL (State Route 159).
- Turn right onto E Main St (US-50).
- Turn left onto S Walnut St.
- Turn left onto W 5th St.
- The Willis-James is on your right. Park on the street in front of the house
From Cincinnati, OH
- Take I-71 N toward Columbus.
- Take exit 65 toward OH-435/Washington C H/US-35.
- Turn right onto Old US-35 NW (OH-435).
- Take ramp onto US-35 E toward Washington Court House. Continue on US-35 to Chillicothe.
- Take the exit for Bridge St - turn right at the light
- Turn right onto E Main St (US-50).
- Turn left onto S Walnut St.
- Turn left onto W 5th St.
- The Willis-James is on your right. Park on the street in front of the house

Perfect
Even if you have no other reason to visit Chillicothe Ohio (there are many reasons to go actually) it is worth making a special trip just to stay at the Willis-James Bed and Breakfast. The house is a meticulously restored historic house in which you feel immediately comfortable. The rooms are large and full of light and all the details from fluffy pillows to bath products are perfect. Steph, Drew and the gorgeous Dante, who is a Weimaraner but an essential part of the welcoming committee, make you feel instantly at home. And then there is the glory of the breakfasts cooked by Drew. You might get scotched quail eggs or pancakes that seem a lot like popovers. Whatever you get will be beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. You will also get very good tips about things to do and see in the area. This is a wonderful place to stay.
A grand old dame
My husband is from Chillicothe and he wanted to make a sentimental journey to revisit his youth and see some old friends. Our visit was truly impromptu (decided that morning!) and since we live just a couple hours away from Chillicothe we had not prearranged for an overnight stay. We called the Willis-James when we arrived, talked to the owner, Stephanie, and were told there was a room available. An email was sent to us allowing us to pay with our credit card. Easy! We arrived and were given the tour of this amazing property by husband owner, Drew. I honestly could not find one flaw with the entire property. The amount of work, detail and care that has been expended to bring this house back to its glory is just unimaginable! Every inch is perfectly appointed. Bedrooms are large, well outfitted with desk, chairs, comfortable mattress, pillows and linens. Bathrooms are completely remodeled with modern everything! Common rooms are many and decorated with such beautiful furniture and artifacts. Breakfast was beautifully served and delicious! I could go on and on but I think you get the gist. We had a wonderful time. I wish we could have stayed longer! Stephanie and Drew were warm, knowledgeable and easy hosts. When in Chillicothe, you really must give this a try. You wont regret it!!
You Forget You're In...
My wife & I stayed here for an impromptu local get-a-way for my birthday. I just want to point some things out if you're thinking about staying here. Firstly, what they have done with this old building is astonishing, it is seriously breathtaking inside. They managed to tie in the old history of the home with a very elegant and lux feel. The first thing you'll notice when you get in your room is just how clean and crisp it feels. The other really great thing is automatic door locks to your room where you just punch in your number they give you and it will auto lock from the outside for you when you leave. When you are inside of this home, you will absolutely forget that you are even in Chillicothe, it feels like a high end home in a big city!
