Located on the ground floor in an older part of the house, this quaint room is ADA accessible with queen bed, open shower concept, in-bedroom vanity, and comfortable reading chair. The historic blue of the mantle, accented by a marble tile hearth, flawlessly blends with the bold colors of a rag cloth rug.
Throughout the history of 58 W. 5th, there were numerous women who have been the bedrock in establishing and preserving this home as a beacon in Chillicothe society. For nearly 100 years the house was passed down through the matrilineal line of Ellen Tiffin Cook, daughter of the first governor of Ohio Edward Tiffin. We pay our respect to all these dignified and hospitable ladies by naming, what has always been considered, the "Matrons Room".

We are located in the heart of downtown Chillicothe; 50 minutes south of Columbus on S.R.23, and 1 hour 30 minutes from Cincinnati.
From Columbus, Ohio:
- Head south on St. Rt. 23.
- Take the exit toward Bridge St/Chillicothe onto US-23-BL (State Route 159).
- Turn right onto E Main St (US-50).
- Turn left onto S Walnut St.
- Turn left onto W 5th St.
- The Willis-James is on your right. Park on the street in front of the house
From Cincinnati, OH
- Take I-71 N toward Columbus.
- Take exit 65 toward OH-435/Washington C H/US-35.
- Turn right onto Old US-35 NW (OH-435).
- Take ramp onto US-35 E toward Washington Court House. Continue on US-35 to Chillicothe.
- Take the exit for Bridge St - turn right at the light
- Turn right onto E Main St (US-50).
- Turn left onto S Walnut St.
- Turn left onto W 5th St.
- The Willis-James is on your right. Park on the street in front of the house

More than Excellent!!
Incredible experience. Communication was so helpful and welcomed. I received a wonderful greeting when I arrived and was treated extremely well. I stayed in the Matron room, and it was beautifully decorated and comfortable. After my long day of driving, I sank into the most comfortable mattress and had an incredibly restful sleep. The breakfast was delicious, and delightful. I cannot fully express how much I enjoyed my stay, but I will always stay here when I find myself in Chillicothe again.

Steph and Drew were amazing hosts! Beautiful home and attention to the smallest details. Wonderful home cooked breakfast in the morning! Definitely coming back again! Large accessible shower , comfy robes and slippers. Very comfortable. Walkability Right near downtown and could walk to the lovely shops and restaurants. Excellent location would not stay anywhere else !
