Designed for the guest who seeks a more extensive accommodation, this 2-room suite offers a king bed, dressers, and dining table. The redesigned bathroom is equipped with walk-in shower, free standing tub, water closet and twin vanities. A separate living room provides additional comfort with wet bar, television, chair, ottoman, and queen sleeper sofa with a Tempur-Pedic mattress. The Spencer Suite is accessible from the main stairway, or through a private staircase in the Butler's Pantry.
In 1810, Jesse Spencer was the registrar of the land office at Chillicothe, and a partner of Thomas Worthington (who had acquired the house after Nathaniel Willis). Upon buying the property from Worthington, Spencer made a few improvements including the construction of a second story over the original Willis house. That first addition, believed to be his office at the time, now encompasses the bath and living room of the suite.

We are located in the heart of downtown Chillicothe; 50 minutes south of Columbus on S.R.23, and 1 hour 30 minutes from Cincinnati.
From Columbus, Ohio:
- Head south on St. Rt. 23.
- Take the exit toward Bridge St/Chillicothe onto US-23-BL (State Route 159).
- Turn right onto E Main St (US-50).
- Turn left onto S Walnut St.
- Turn left onto W 5th St.
- The Willis-James is on your right. Park on the street in front of the house
From Cincinnati, OH
- Take I-71 N toward Columbus.
- Take exit 65 toward OH-435/Washington C H/US-35.
- Turn right onto Old US-35 NW (OH-435).
- Take ramp onto US-35 E toward Washington Court House. Continue on US-35 to Chillicothe.
- Take the exit for Bridge St - turn right at the light
- Turn right onto E Main St (US-50).
- Turn left onto S Walnut St.
- Turn left onto W 5th St.
- The Willis-James is on your right. Park on the street in front of the house

A Hallmark movie at The Willis-James!
I can't say enough amazing things about the Willis-James! From the second the door opened and Dante the amazing dog greeted us, I knew this was the place I should be for sure. My family stayed in the Spencer Suite and the Honey Creek Room and both were very special. The Spencer Suite has a bathroom and a bathtub that will make you never want to leave your room. I also loved the sweet chalkboard that welcomed us with our names along with a sweet treat. Steph & Drew make us feel at home with all the attention to detail. Steph and Drew are so welcoming and I was so impressed with the history they knew about the stunning home from the time it was built. The home that they clearly put all their love into and WOW IT SHOWS! It is warm yet so sleek and has the best linens and pillows! As if that is not all enough to impress.... wait until you wake up to the smell throughout the home of a gourmet breakfast. I could just go on and on... but STOP reading and starting booking your trip to the Willis James. I know I will be back again and again.10/10, A+, 5 STARS!
